Emily Priestas, PT, DPT, OCS, CMTPT/DN joined the Premier Spine and Sports Medicine team in Hagerstown, Maryland, in 2018. Dr. Priestas received her B.S. in exercise physiology and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from West Virginia University. She is among the distinguished 10% of physical therapists who are recognized as board certified orthopaedic clinical specialists. Dr. Priestas has received advanced training in treating the pelvic floor through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. She is recognized as a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist, and has been trained in advanced dry needling through Myopain Seminars.

Dr. Priestas is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, The Academy of Pelvic Health, and the Global Pelvic Health Alliance.

Dr. Priestas is well versed in the assessment and management of patients with the following diagnoses: Chronic pelvic pain, interstitial cystitis, pudendal neuralgia, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, vulvodynia, and more. She is experienced in treating both the female and male pelvic floor. In addition to treating the pelvic floor, Dr. Priestas enjoys treating other various chronic pain conditions of the spine, and takes a holistic full-body approach to help patients manage their symptoms.

Dr. Priestas is a native of Smithsburg, Maryland, and is very excited to be treating patients in Washington County. When Dr. Priestas is not treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, and baking.

Emily has had a research publication and poster presentation at the national level in the field of orthopaedic physical therapy for new treatment approaches to address chronic low back pain.
